Profoto Roadshow

De Profoto Roadshow is een rondreizend evenement voor fotografen die meer willen leren over licht, workflow en creatieve richting. In elke stad nodigen we fotografen uit die in korte, praktijkgerichte masterclasses hun manier van werken laten zien. Ze nemen je mee in hun aanpak, laten zien hoe zij met licht omgaan en delen de gedachten achter hun beelden.

Tijdens het event zijn product specialisten van Profoto aanwezig. Bezoekers kunnen vragen stellen, instellingen proberen en zelf met de apparatuur werken. Aan het einde van het programma kun je in de ingerichte sets fotograferen met de aanwezige modellen en Profoto gear.

De Roadshow is bedoeld voor professionele fotografen, maar zeker ook voor fotografen die zich verder willen ontwikkelen in het gebruik van licht. De sessies gaan niet alleen over de techniek, maar ook over het concept, de creatieve keuzes en de workflow die een fotograaf gebruikt om tot een eindresultaat te komen.

De Roadshow organiseer ik samen met Laurence de Groot, Marketing & Eventmanager bij Profoto. We hebben allebei hands-on ervaring en een achtergrond in photoshoots, styled shoots en productiewerk. Vanuit die ervaring en drive werken we eraan om van de Profoto Roadshows een bekend internationaal inspiratie-event te maken. Er staan al veel Roadshows gepland in Europa en dit is nog maar het begin. We werken ondertussen aan nieuwe formats en concepten die binnenkort gelanceerd worden.

The Profoto Roadshow is a traveling event for photographers who want to learn more about lighting, workflow and creative direction. In each city, we invite photographers to host short, practical masterclasses where they share their way of working, explain how they use light and talk about the ideas behind their images.

Profoto’s product specialists are present throughout the event for questions, guidance and hands-on testing. At the end of the program, participants can photograph in the masterclass sets using the models and Profoto gear.

The Roadshow is designed for professional photographers, but it’s also a good fit for photographers who want to develop their understanding of lighting. The sessions cover both the technical side and the creative side — the concept behind an image, the decisions that shape it and the workflow photographers rely on.

I organize the Roadshow together with Laurence de Groot, Marketing & Event Manager at Profoto. We both have hands-on experience and a background in photoshoots, styled shoots and production work. With that shared experience and drive, we’re working to grow the Profoto Roadshows into a well-known international inspiration event. Several Roadshows across Europe are already planned, and this is only the beginning. New formats and concepts are on the way.

Naast de workshops kun je zelf aan de slag in volledig ingerichte sets. Je werkt met modellen, stelt je eigen belichting in en ervaart hoe Profoto licht in de praktijk voelt. Het is een laagdrempelige manier om nieuwe technieken te proberen of om je portfolio uit te breiden met beelden die je normaal alleen tijdens een productie maakt.

Elke editie bevat korte en praktische workshops waarin gastfotografen hun workflow, creatieve keuzes en lichtopstellingen toelichten. Je ziet hoe zij denken, hoe ze een scène opbouwen en waarom ze voor een bepaalde lichtvorm kiezen.

Wil je weten welk licht geschikt is voor jouw stijl, hoe je lichtmodifiers het beste inzet of welke instellingen handig zijn voor jouw camera? Tijdens het event kun je rechtstreeks in gesprek met de experts die dagelijks met de producten werken.
